Plymouth, Padstow and Port Isaac

Remember the Tolpuddle Martyrs? The unionists exiled to Australia? We found a plaque near the Mayflower Steps in Plymouth harbour commemorating their return to England. And remember the TV show called Doc Martin? We visited the village it was filmed in, Port Isaac, on the west coast of Cornwall.

And you know Rick Stein the chef? We went to the village, Padstow, that has become revistalised after he established his seafood restaurant there.

It was a miserable day - raining non-stop and cold - but it felt and looked like the real England.
