Saturday market, Berne, Switzerland

We've moved on from Singapore to Berne and it's a delight to be here.

It seemed that all the residents of Berne go outside on a Saturday morning. It was a lovely warm morning and there were people shopping, walking, riding bikes, floating down the River Aare (the river is not deep and the water moves fast so people hop in with their clothes in a waterproof bag and let the current take them downstream) and going to the markets set up in several streets and Bundesplatz of the beautiful old town.

We walked in across the bridge with our son and bought organic vegetables and salads for lunch and dinner before the obligatory coffee in a university library, Cafe Lounge Lesbar.
