Wyoming

From Teton and Yellowstone we followed the Rocky Mountain Continental Divide south-east through Wyoming to Cheyenne on Highway 287.

That country is high, I mean high. Mt Kosciuszko is 7310 feet high. Most of the passes we've been over have been about 9000 feet or more. And the country in between doesn't get much lower.

It's been a fascinating journey. The geology changes continually, the landscapes are so big.

Mt Togwatee
Badlands at Dubois
Crowheart Butte
Phil found a mallee gate
Ray Lake
At Lander we diverted to visit a spot I'd seen on the web, not expecting very much. Was I wrong! At Sinks Canyon State Park the river disappears into the mountain and Two hours later it reappears a kilometre downstream.

The Sink
The Rise
Also at The Rise is a school of fish, Brown and Rainbow Trout, that arrived naturally and have stayed because the pool is deep enough that it doesn't freeze. They are now carefully protected and are very large. We were allowed to feed them with a special dry food (that we paid a quarter for).

And one more, because I have to put in at least one macro shot. Can't disappoint my loyal readers.
